SNAP Job

SNAP Job: Part-time (Carer/buddy)                                                                        Ref: V2271
Description: Richard is 18 and lives with his parents in Luton. Richard has a part deletion of Chromosome 16 and has complex needs. He is delayed in all areas of his development, doubly incontinent and is very small in stature. Richard only communicates by vocalising, he is partially deaf and has limited mobility. He has autistic tendencies and is fed through a gastrostomy tube via a pump. Richard loves his Mum and is very dependent on her for his care and stimulation, therefore she would like someone to come in on a very casual basis to enable her to have a well deserved rest. Richard loves music, going to snoezelen (multi-sensory environment) and physical rough and tumble play. It is very important for any potential candidates to understand the level of his needs and to take into account that it will take time for Richard to be independent from his mother. The family are not just looking for someone to take care of his personal care needs; but also to bond, stimulate and have fun with him.
