SNAP Job

SNAP Job:                Temporary Nanny (Live-In)                                                  Ref: V2379

Description: This family are looking for a nanny to solely meet the needs of their son so they can go away on holiday without worry! The family have three children: Matthew (Maffy) 9, Nicholas 14, Meghan 15. Maffy is a small 9 year old boy, with global developmental delay and mild autism. He wears pull-ups so they will need to be changed. He is a very happy little boy and loves company. He is also epileptic and has drop fits, (not full blown seizures), these can happen at any time without warning but are over within 30 seconds. He wears a soft helmet to avoid injury. Nicholas and Meghan are pretty independent and the children's grandmother will also be staying so there will be plenty of people around who know Maffy. Maffy does not speak but is not a demanding child. For example, if he wants something to eat, he will sit in his chair in the kitchen and wait until you give him something. He does not walk much rather he runs which is fine if he is in an enclosed area, i.e. the house or garden. He has no sense of danger at all. The only difficult time of the day with Maffy is bedtime. He needs someone with him, to ensure his trousers are kept on so that he doesn't take his pull-ups off. Sometimes he goes to sleep fairly quickly, other times it can take up to a couple of hours for him to get off. Once he is asleep he stays asleep (unless unwell). At this point the nanny will be free to go to her accommodation and the grandmother will be responsible overnight. Maffy will be at school so there will be plenty of free time during the day. Although the position does not start until the end of September, we would like to place someone sooner rather than later so the family can book their flights.
