SNAP Job

SNAP Job:     Part time (nanny/enabler)                                                   Ref: V2373
Description:

We are seeking a caring nanny/enabler primarily for "L" aged 12. "L" has acquired brain damage as consequence of the delay in diagnosis and treatment of his phenylketonuria (PKU). This is caused by a rare inherited metabolic disorder that 2 of his 3 brothers also have but as they were detected and treated at birth they have no impairments. The brothers with PKU have a strict diet and medication regime that must be adhered to. "L" has been assessed as having moderate -severe learning difficulties and has been seizure free for 3 years following successful surgery, but there is the possibility that his seizures could return and if so care needs are likely to escalate. "L" loves football, Formula One and playing with his siblings and classmates. The nanny will work primarily with "L", but of course it will be important to include his siblings where ever possible. Hours may well increase in the near future. The family have not had help before, so the nanny needs to be sensitive this. Please see further details including an initial timetable.
