Description:
We
are seeking a fit and active nanny (male or female) for Huw 7 and Rhys 5. Huw
has moderate Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD). He is able to communicate to some
degree, for example he is able to ask for what he wants, but sometimes requires
prompting and he does not often respond to questions. He is toilet trained during
the day and is fully mobile (very mobile!) unless he doesn't want to go somewhere
in which case he tends to lie down. However, if he sees something he is interested
in, he can disappear at speed! Huw is not on any medication, however he follows
a lactose-free diet. The routine will be as follows: In school term time, collect
Rhys from school at 3pm and then be at home to meet Huw from the taxi that brings
him home from school. Play with the boys and give them snack (as required). In
school holiday time, some TEEACH work (directed task based learning) with Huw,
then days out or playing in the garden (1/3 acre with trampoline, swings, slide
& sandpit), including supervising lunch. Huw loves physical activities, including
swimming and bouncing on the trampoline. He is also very skilled on the computer.
The hours are part-time in term-time, and full-time for about 6 weeks of the holiday,
but the family have worked out an annual wage so you know what you will be earning
each week.
