Job: Part time (Buddy/Enabler)
Ref:
V2140 |
Description:
This family are looking for an enabler/buddy
for their son, Mede who is 10 and has autism.
Mede is mobile but has limited speech, he
communicates regularly using his PEC's. He
is a strong-willed boy who needs someone who
is able to encourage his social skills and
keep up with him! The daily routine will be:
waiting for Mede to arrive home from school,
preparing his evening meal and helping him
at the table, then evening activities. Mede
has previously been home-tutored so he is
used to working one on one in the home environment.
Part of the job will be escorting Mede on
trips into the community to perform social
tasks, such as shopping. The family have three
other children who have another nanny who
takes care of them so this position is solely
working with Mede. The hours are every evening
during the school term -time 5pm - 8pm with
occasional extra hours at the weekend by arrangement.
Also, there will be hours during the school
holidays but this is to be discussed. Family
met by Kirsty at SNAP!
