Description:
We are seeking a care worker/enabler, preferably with experience with young people
with Acquired Brain Injury, or who has at least worked within a residential school/home
for children/young people with physical disabilities, learning difficulties and
challenging behaviour. A' who is now 21 years old has an acquired brain injury
from a bike accident. 'A' was 15 and due to take A levels and had a place at university
to study Music when the accident happened. We have a lot more information about
"A" and his needs, please click
here for more details.
The
family have just exchanged on a house in
Brighton where "A" will move to
with a team of carers. This role will start
in Hildenborough and then relocate to Brighton.
We are seeking someone who can work weekends
(1 or 2 a month) plus two nights a week.
This way the carer can get to know "A"
and his needs during the day, but also learn
his night routine and be in a position to
be the trainer for the night carers in Brighton.
We appreciate that it may be difficult in
the first few months, but once the move
to Brighton has happened, the team will
be able to set up rotas which will hopefully
suit everyone!
This
is an exciting opportunity for someone who would really like to be part of a dynamic
team who have already made a difference to "A's" life and will continue
to do so into the future. There will be plenty of training opportunities.
Please
note: any potential carers should live
viable distances from both where 'A' lives
at the moment in Tonbridge and from Brighton
where he will be moving to in the near future.
