SNAP Job:  Live-in (Mothers Help/Nanny)                                                                        Ref: V1599

Description:
Ideal first special needs position! This family are seeking a live-in Mother's Help/Nanny to assist with Lexie 2 1/4 and Helena 4 years. Helena is an affectionate, sociable and cuddly four year old. She has a couple of unrelated genetic conditions that have led to general developmental delay and severe epilepsy. She is in nursery attached to a SLD/PMLD school three half days and 2 full days and has a programme of activities organised most mornings. Helena needs constant 1:1 care, mostly because she has an oral compulsion plus a metabolic disorder that means most food that other children will have around her is poisonous, though she also likes to challenge mum and dad by taking her glasses off and eating them! She is non-verbal though she has a couple of signs which she uses when she feels it appropriate. She is on a very strict special diet which means a lot of cooking especially for her; as one of her epilepsy drugs suppresses appetite, it's important for her food to be appetising and varied as well as complying with the diet. The role will be to assist mum with both children, general chores for the children, such as cooking, clearing up, fetching medications etc. Lexie is a lively and engaging two year old. She is a sociable little girl, who doesn't miss a trick!

Hours are - Term-Time - Mon/Fri - 7am-8.30am / 4pm-7pm / Tues/Weds/Thurs - 7am-7pm (with some time off during the day) and School Holidays - Monday-Friday 8am-7pm.
