Q. How long will it take
to find someone?
A. It is always impossible to give
an exact time -there are many variables
out of our control. However if we work and
communicate together this will help. For
example if we send you someone's details,
call them as soon as possible (they will
be looking at other jobs!) or let us know
they are not quite right. Good candidates
may be in employment when they apply, and
will have to give notice, so it is best
to allow at least a month to 6 weeks.
Q. Do we have to pay
if you don't find anyone?
A. We will invest a large amount
of time finding the right person for your
family, but an invoice is not raised until
you have offered someone the job and they
have accepted. We will charge a cancellation
fee if: We have sent suitable candidates
details to you based on the information
you have given us, but you have changed
the details of the position or you have
withdrawn the position. We have done what
was asked of us and we will raise an invoice
for a cancellation fee of £300 for
UK positions and £600 for positions
abroad. We will deduct a cancellation fee
paid from any subsequent permanent placement
fee. We don't like raising cancellation
fees - it's not what SNAP is about, but
we do need to be a viable business to offer
the service we do!
Q. Will a special needs
nanny look after my other child too?
A. As long as the requirements for
the child with additional needs are not
significant that they need one to one help,
then yes they will be happy to look after
additional siblings.
Q. Who is responsible
for tax and national insurance?
A. You as parents will be the employer
and legally responsible for tax and national
insurance contributions. Many families use
a payroll company such as Nannytax.
Q. Will a special needs
nanny do housework?
A. A special needs nanny or carer
is a professional person who is specifically
employed to work with your child or children.
Of course they will carry out any duties
related to the children and will tidy up
after themselves, but they should not to
be seen as domestic staff.
The above are some of the most asked questions,
but if you have any further ones, we will
be more than happy to answer them!
